275 million 2000 550 million by 2050* 1.2 BILLION IN 2100 "Zero International Migration" - population would be 377 million in 2100, Census Bureau 2000 http://www.census.gov/population/projections/nation/summary/np-t1.txt
AMERICAN PATRIOTS UNITE BEHIND THE CONSTITUTION
In the Preamble to the Constitution, our founding fathers set our goals and duty: "a more perfect Union" E Pluribus Unum, one from many, is destroyed by floods of hyphenated-Americans overwhelming a successful American culture.
"establish Justice" Rule of law is basic to all successful nations. When the Executive Branch doesn't enforce laws, they are derelict in duty and must be removed. (Illegal immigration costs average taxpayer household $1,117 year.)
"domestic Tranquility" Continued growth brings fights over water and other scarce resources ... possible Chinese-style 10-day traffic gridlock for posterity.
"provide for the common defense" against the invasion of illegal aliens, drug traffickers, and "homegrown terrorists" involving immigrants and indigenous Muslims. (Latter from report 9/10/10 by National Security Preparedness Group)
"promote the general welfare" Immigrants take jobs as 1 in 7 in U.S. live in poverty. Immigrants' children, 20% of students, overwhelm schools as American education falls well behind other advanced nations. (K-12 schooling costs $100,000+ per student)
"secure the blessings of liberty" Our democratic republic form of government can not survive in a country of a billion people. Each addition dilutes our votes.
"to ourselves and our Posterity" "We the people" have a solemn obligation to hand on to coming generations a country as good or better than we inherited. A nation's first duty is to care for its own people.
SOLUTION #1: RETURN TO TRADITIONAL 250,000 YEAR, average 1776-1965 The Immigration Act of 1965 was opposed by most Americans, but was passed by Congress at the urging of Senator Edward Kennedy ... who promised that neither large numbers or ethnic change would happen. Because the Act allowed chain migration of families, legal numbers have soared - mostly with poor relatives from Latin America and Asia. As Mark R. Levin wrote in his 2009 best seller, "Liberty and Tyranny," The emphasis would no longer be on the preservation of American society and consent of the governed; now aliens themselves would decide who comes to the United States through family reunification." Congress must pass laws to lower the numbers under 250,000 a year, including refugees, and based on ability to contribute to our prosperity. Immigrants should not be a burden to taxpayers.
SOLUTION #2: END ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND AMNESTIES A nation that can put men on the moon can end illegal immigration. This is much cheaper than supporting imported poverty. "The United States shall ... protect each of (the states) against invasion." The Constitution, Article IV, Section 4. Tell the President and Congress "NO AMNESTY" which rewards 12 to 20 million lawbreakers with citizenship and then the right to bring in 30 to 40 million family members through chain migration. # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # "It is the right and the responsibility of a democratic society to manage immigration so that it serves the national interest," U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, 1996, appointed by Pres. Clinton 67% of likely voters believe that immigration is too high, including 56% of Hispanics, 57% of Asian-Americans, and 68% of African Americans (Zogby 11/2009). FAMILIES CAN MAKE THIS A TEACHING MOMENT FOR GOOD CITIZENSHIP. ENCOURAGE NEW CONGRESS TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE. Letters are best, or phone Congress toll free 866 220-0044. Phone talk radio. E-mail Congress through NumbersUSA.com. (Congress voting report cards www.BetterImmigration.com) AGES 9 AND UP can write letters to Senators and Representatives telling them immigration under 250,000. Ask for a LETTER IN RESPONSE. Mention their voting report card grades (below) and encourage those with As and Bs to work hard to save our nation. FIGHT FOR OUR FUTURE! "Young people have no idea the importance of letters," Ralph Nader, C-Span2, August 1, 2010 Under 35s are half the population. They are always put in the front lines of defense of their country. This is one of the most important battles ever.
"Our country has a special obligation to work toward the stabilization of our own population to credibly lead ... world (there)." Ronald Reagan
"It's phony to say, 'I'm for the environment but not for limiting immigration,' " Earth Day Founder, late Senator Gaylord Nelson, who viewed population stabilization as important to environmental sustainability.
"..subject to no restrictions, this pressure will find its termination only when the levels of overpopulation and poverty in the United States are equal to those of the countries from which these people are now so anxious to escape." George Kennan, Statesman and Ambassador
CONGRESSIONAL VOTING REPORT CARDS are on www.betterimmigration.com Be sure to click on to the CAREER VOTING REPORT and not recent votes. For instance, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who talks of the "solemn responsibility each generation has to the ones that follow" has an F- CAREER Voting Report Card on such issues as border control, foreign workers, amnesties. Her RECENT votes are C- ... perhaps an election year diversion.
CAP IMMIGRATION SPREAD THE WORD "Any pledges to lower emissions..among industrial countries will be much harder for the U.S. to achieve, simply because it is gaining people so fast through immigration and a birth rate that is higher than average for a developed nation." Scientific American Magazine, Summer, 2009
